The AGS Group, with its network of partners throughout the world, is currently one of the major players in the international relocation and removal industry. With more than 3000 employees in 128 locations worldwide, we help to relocate more than 50 000 families every year, all over the world.

As a responsible company, we chose to go beyond our quality certifications (our Group is the only one in our industry to have so many FAIM-accredited branches, and almost all AGS branches are ISO 9001:2008 certified), with the announcement of our participation in the United Nation’s Global Compact.

What is the Global Compact?

The United Nation’s Global Compact is a company’s volunteered commitment to base their activities and strategies on ten universally-accepted principles centered on Human Rights, Labour Standards , Environment and Anti-Corruption. www.unglobalcompact.org

The first objective of the Global Compact is to promote and step up the social responsibility of companies and markets. By adhering to the principles of the Global Compact, we share the conviction that commercial practices, based on a certain number of universal principles, will allow the emergence of a world market that is more stable, fairer and more open to encouraging the development of prosperous and dynamic companies.

By participating in the Global Compact, companies take practical measures with the aim of modifying their operating management, so that the Global Compact’s principles tie in with its strategy, culture and daily activities.

Why the Global Compact?

For several years now, the AGS Group has incorporated economical, ecological and social aspects into its work functions, therefore promoting sustainable development.

As the first international moving company to participate in the Global Compact, AGS secures the commitment of the Group and the staff in favor of Sustainable Development and the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility.

This decision has led the AGS Group to further its management of its carbon footprint, but also in the promotion and respect of sustainable development groundwork: the social and human aspects of its economic activity.

This participation is in line with the responsible and people-centered approach which the AGS Group, a family company created in 1974, has always followed.

In practical terms, what does AGS do today?
Our Actions:

• Building new premises in London, equipped with photovoltaic panels and reversible air source heat pumps.
• The creation of the European Lift Van, which can be transported via standard carriers, therefore avoiding the transportation of partially-filled containers.
• Centralized supply of packing material to all branches, which ensures that recycled material is used.
• Promotion of tolerance and equity values throughout our multicultural Group, which employs people in more than 82 countries.
• Investment in training employees, locally and at headquarters.
• Creation of an international code of good behavior, outlining the rights and duties of all AGS employees, while taking into account local laws and regulations.
• Collaboration with all commercial partners to reduce child labour in specific countries.
• Investment in educational systems and AIDS prevention in the 82 countries where AGS is present, particularly in Africa. In general, AGS invests locally, promoting and supporting education and human rights.

We will continue in our commitment to new actions in order to promote every Global Compact principle. Our objectives are for the long-term, and we invite our clients and suppliers to join us in this process.
